We are pleased to confirm that the club is setting up a station for SSB Field Day this weekend 3rd & 4th September at Gt Ellingham near Attleborough, with setup of masts at approx 2pm Friday pm and the tents and all equipment from 0900 Saturday am.
As well as SSB voice being a mode which most people can do, this informal event is an ideal way to see how a remote field station can be set up and how contests operate. It's also a great opportunity to meet in person and work, talk and eat together in a pleasant and covid safe outdoor environment. Overnight camping on Saturday is also possible on site with access to nearby toilet facilties, just let me know if you would like to do this.
The location is the field behind David G7URP's work premises: DCP Microdevelopments, Bryon Court, Bow Street, Great Ellingham, NR17 1JB. Ample car parking space is there and the Field station a very short walk away. Tea and Coffee will be available but please bring your own fold up chair and refreshments (although see below for Sunday food which can be prebooked).
We welcome visitors at any time from Saturday 0900 to help setup the stations through Sunday - the contest runs from 1400 Saturday to 1400 Sunday BST and we will start packing up immediately afterwards.
I will be cooking bacon butties for those on site at 0800 Sunday and Roast gammon and pineapple rolls at 1230. You are very welcome to join us for either of these, but please email me by Saturday mid afternoon if you would like to attend and are not on the operating roster so that I can shop for sufficient food.
We hope to see you.
NARC SSB Field Day team.
